An independent magazine for artists, stories, and snow leopards.
This is a magazine about why we get so attached to art.
Take a comfort show, an indie film, a tight 12-track playlist (for a crush), and a character whose personality you adopted as your own. Add a few core memories, some close attachments, some strong smells, and you have the singular narrative of who you are.
Love Interests wants to explore that narrative. We want to know everything about you. We publish the beloved, wretched, amusing, fantastical stories that remind us why we need art, and how we use it to make sense of our lives.
We’re a social-purpose publication. We host free arts and writing workshops in local communities, helping people spin the media that shaped them into creative works of their own, and publishing zines that preserve intergenerational neighbourhood stories. The strongest pieces jump from local editions into our main international issue. We also give back to the planet, because without a healthy world, there are no stories left to tell.
And we are still in our humble beginnings! If the work we do speaks to you, and you want to be part of it, say hi. We're friendly. [email protected]

Why subscribe?
Your subscription funds our community programmes, free events, local zines, and contributors fund, as well as our environmental initiatives — and all the caffeinated beverages it takes to make this happen. Subscriptions also prove we have real readers, which is what convinces bookstores and shops to stock an independent title like ours. Click the giant logo above to join!
All creative art is magic, is evocation of the unseen in forms persuasive, enlightening, familiar and surprising, for the edification of mankind, pinned down by the conditions of its existence to the earnest consideration of the most insignificant tides of reality.
— Joseph Conrad, Henry James — An Appreciation (1905)
Love Interests is a social purpose magazine that makes writing and creating fun, approachable, and available to more people. We believe art and media shape our identity, our world, and our understanding of each other. In every issue we try to evoke the essence of humanity without intellectuality; grounded, passionate, and full of sweetness and joie de vivre.
